having always been a frugalista, Amy first discovered thrifting back in 2008 while in high school and was instantly enamored. All the unique pieces and incredibly low prices (remember, this was back in 2008!) Since then, thrifting has been her primary source of shopping, save for the occasional Target clearance section finds.

It all began when my friend and mentor, Donna, suggested for me to major in business because I “had so many great ideas.” I took a small business course that required a business plan as a final project. Because of my love for thrifting, I decided to do a business plan for a thrift store. I knew I wanted a boutique style shop where pieces were highly curated.

While the brick and mortar store of the original vision was not quite within reach, I began reselling online originally on EBay. However, one day on Instagram I stumbled upon a profile that was actually a little shop. I was intrigued and decided that I would begin my own little shop selling my secondhand finds. I named my shop Donna Gee Fashions to honor my friend that had originally inspired me to pursue my own business.

Deciding to finally jump in with both feet, I officially established twice living as a business. I began doing pop up shops locally at markets and small stores while also continuing to sell online.

My love for finding unique pieces continues to fuel my love for curating for my shop, as well as inspiring me to launch my own thrift style box thryftbox, that also allows me to combine my love language of gift giving into the mix.
